Isolationism
Here’s an email going around that Barb sent me. Whenever I turn on the news and hear how the vast majority of the world despises America, the below course of action seems appealing to me no matter how imprudent it may seem!
WOULDN’T IT BE GREAT
TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?
My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.
Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.
This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.
Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.
The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world’s nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.
Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.
The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.
Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.
In the future , together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.
Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.
I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.
I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don’t care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York!
A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2 Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.
Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.
Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.
We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we’ll be drilling for oil in Alaska- which will take care of this country’s oil needs for decades to come. If you’re an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.
It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, “darn tootin.” Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America.
To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won’t forget.To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic. God bless America. Thank you and good night.

Now how fast can we fax this to every government in
the world??? Maybe if we Americans stand together on this note we could build a better America for our Children cause as it stands now we would be better off moving somewhere else ourselves!!! And it’s a damn shame to say that!!!!

Why you think that you are very important,The help you give to the world is drop in the ocean comparing to the profit the AM companies gain.Every “HELP” is because of hidden interest,and Mexicans your so much complain about,if you really wanted to stop immigration, you could but then who will clean the streets,wash the dishes,work in the farms,and be maid in your so called prosperous society,Jus watch Jerry Springer show or Ricky Lake and see your America .This crap is not existing anywhere in the world.
Please sort your own house before you export your “psevdoculture”.Who cares that you don’t like FOOTBALL not “Soccer” like only you like to called, and do you thing anyone except “proudly American” gives S##t about your so called game “American football” where the players hardly use a foot to move the ball!

Hi Nick, The English is a bit broken, but I think I get the crux of what you’re trying to say. First, let me say thank you for taking the time out to leave a comment. I’ll respond the best I can.
First regarding immigration, especially as it applies to Mexico. I don’t think you will find too many people in the United States of America who are against immigration. This is part of what makes our Country great. We are one big melting pot of mixed ethnic origins. Overall, we get along with one another very well and when push comes to shove, we all unite as Americans. What we are against is Illegal Immigration, people who come to our Country without consent. This means that our Citizens have to shoulder a considerable financial burden due to their presence. Since they are here illegally and not paying their fair share of taxes, Americans have to pay for all the services our Nation provides them. We pay for them to go to the doctor & Dentist. We often pay for all or part of their house. If they have no job or a low paying job, our Government will give them money to support their family until they find a job. We pay for the roads they drive on, the schools they send their children to. We pay for Police to protect them and Firemen if so needed. We pay for Libraries, Community Centers, Parks, and we’ll even pay to send them to College. There are Millions of Illegal Immigrants here, how would you feel if they came to your Country and you had to support them with your taxes? Americans are not against Immigration, that is silly. We simply want the people who do come here to do it the correct way… Pay their fair share, work hard, and perhaps if they are clever enough, and work hard enough they can obtain the “American Dream” of Freedom and prosperity like so many others have.
Next regarding shows like Jerry Springer and Rikki Lake. I hope you don’t think those are a fair representation of the “Average American”. I think every Country, no matter where on this planet has the “Low-Lifes” of their Society. What you see there is the “Dregs” of America, a very small percentage. The show is popular because the rest of us find a twisted sort of humor in watching their foolishness.
Next regarding American Companies profiting in third world Countries. I can not deny you have a valid argument. I do think that if most American’s had their way, we would bring those Jobs home. Our American Companies would have to pay 10x labor costs here so that is simply the nature of the beast until someone makes a law otherwise. I would like to point out though that when we send “HELP” to the rest of the world, it is not American Companies that foot the bill. It is the American Taxpayer.
And finally… Neither myself nor most anyone participating on this blog cares much about “Football” be it American or European. We have more important ventures to pursue in life.

same like in America, Honestly years ago my dream was to emigrate to USA ,I was living day and night with the “American Dream”.Lot of my friends are there,years already,I found another place to settle,From this position and time I can say that I don’t want to emigrate to USA any more,I don’t know exactly what changed in me or in USA all this years I suppose is not the same like 80-90’s. My be that’s why the second list of countries is so large, My objection was that ,not this countries are for criticizing only! My be they have a point,I don’t say that they all are 100% right. But this e-mail sounded so radical and almost chauvinistic. Like your president said before he stroked Iraq, I don’t care what rest of the world thinks I am going to war….

yes English is not my first language,and I am from the first list countries in the e-mail(LUCKY ME),but I do not support 100% everything politicians decide to do on “OUR” behalves
Sorry if I offended somebody but that is how we feel also. Ad at the and the world is not USA only! We understand the role you play and appreciate if is fare but if sounds bad then we also have opinion.
