Immigration

A while back, I was surfing fark.com and came across a thread there debating illegal immigration as it concerns our country. I enjoy lurking there but never participate because most of their posters lean far left. It’s just a “flame war” waiting to happen.

Anyhow, I grabbed a “poem” (for lack of a better word) that someone had pasted into the discussion. I can’t say that I agree with the racist tone of it, but it brings up many valid points in my opinion. I’d be interested to hear everyone’s take on it!

I cross the border, poor and broke
And go to see employment folk.
Nice man treat me real good there
Say I need to see Welfare.

Welfare man say, “Come no more
We send the cash right to your door!”
Pretty soon, got plenty money,
Thanks to you, American dummy.

I call up family in homeland
I say, “Come here, quick as you can!
Welfare check will make you wealthy
And Medicare will keep you healthy.”

They swim the river, come in trucks
And buy big house with Welfare bucks.
Kid need dentist? Wife need pills?
Medicare pay all the bills.

We bring all women we can find
And keep them pregnant all the time.
Each new baby bring a raise
And sucker white man always pays.

Now everything is looking good
And soon we own the neighborhood.
Each day more folk moving in
But white man’s patience wearing thin.

Soon the white man move away
I buy his house, and there I stay.
Move in brother, charge him rent
And in the yard, put up a tent.

This USA is wonderful place
Much too good for white man race.
If he no like it, he can go.
Plenty room in Mexico.

    I don’t know what its like to live somewhere that isn’t like here, but seems to me, we should be taking care of our own before those coming across the borders.

    My hat is off to the militia that has organized, and volunteered to keep this kinda stuff away.

    Funny, here (Michigan) “The Country South of the Border” is Canada. I don’t see the Canadians sneaking north across the Ambassador Bridge, under the darkness of night, to work in America. They have pleanty of good jobs in Canada. Hey wait! I may be on to something!

    …. and the Canadians have a National Health Program so they don’t have to pay for doctor visits, hospital stays or medicine. It’s not perfect, but they are content. It’s the Americans that you see going to Canada to get cheap drugs. Hum-m-m-m!

    …. and the Canadians get their first year of college for free. It’s called grade #13. Hum-m-m-m!

    Taxes are high in Canada, but they are getting free medical care and a year of college. Humm-m-m-m!

    Agreed Barbara. Border states feel it the most, They have to pay for all the medical care, schooling, welfare, etc… for people who shouldn’t even be there. The trade-off is that “Big Business” gets cheap labor. Maybe the “Big Business” needs to have their taxes raised to pay for all this nonsense.

    Phyllis, I don’t pretend to be “Well Traveled” and “Worldly” as to make accurate statements regarding your claims… I will say this however, The U.S.A. is by no means perfect, but it seems to me that most of the world wants to be here, not in Canada. We are the shining beacon of freedom & democracy. So we must be doing something right, no?

    Our forefathers hit the nail on the head when they wrote…

    “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.

    Communism and Socialism may appeal to some in principal, but I think it suppresses people in their desire to be “All they can be”. I’ve heard some arguments that Canada’s health care system is a big mess with huge waiting lists for simple procedures. The very best Doctors are here in the United States. Why? Because they can get PAID handsomely for their talents.

    RTFP Phyllis the last I heard, Canada was considered a Socialist country, but that’s about as close to Communism that one can get if it makes you feel any better.

    Canada has a Constitutional Monarchy with Queen Elizabeth ll as it’s head. God Save the Queen (who is not a socialist)!

    Actually, what I think you are thinking of is the fact that Canada has a socialized medical system which means that everyone in Canada gets free medical treatment and medications. This does not mean that they are a Socialist country. The Queen would say. “We don’t approve!”

    **Sigh** Phyllis, as I told you before… If it Quacks, It’s a Duck. You google the question “Is Canada a Socialist Government?” and almost 4 million results will appear to support that conclusion. Hitler came to power in a Democracy. Are you gonna sit here and try to claim Nazi Germany ran things in a Democratic way? Canada may have started a certain way. But the Socialist party has a firm grip on that Government. Hence, their laws, policies and programs all tilt in that direction.

    Common’ Mikie, for once admit that you are wrong! I did google Canada and Socialism and I did not come up with 4 million results, I came up with 4 million results for Canada and Democracy.

    If it were just Social Medicine I might buy it… heck, even Hillary was putting together something of the like while her hubby was in office. But look at everything as a whole…. their healthcare system, their tax code, their education, welfare system… it all rings Socialist to me. Everyone pays exhorbitant taxes so “Big Brother” can take care of you. It’s a far cry from Capitalism. Maybe I will concede that they are Democratically Socialist… but that’s about it.
