Below 60... (Laughing) That's funny! I suppose to you folks who's body has acclimated to all that heat and humidity... below 60 constitutes winter... We here in Maryland consider that T-shirt and Shorts weather.

Winter to us is when you go outside... and the snot in your nose instantly freezes!

Hi Mike,

You would be amazed at the drop in temp here and yes we do use our heater in winter. Usually in January and February when it gets below 60. It is chilly believe it or not and I look forward to them few short cool months. I sure do miss them VA Winters.

One of my favorite things about having the stove is what is on top of it. We got a cast iron Dragon from Plow and Hearth that you fill with water and he puffs steam from his nostrils. The other is a big kettle. We buy liquid scents to put in the water. Just a few drops and the whole house smells like Pumpkin Spice, or Evergreen, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Gingerbread... There's a whole variety of scents and it makes the house inviting.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! Stephanie... it actually gets cool enough to burn a fire in Florida?

I was at Wendy and Mike's somewhere around picture #3. It's a treat to see the job finished and I must say that it looks great.
When I lived in the old house by the covered bridge, not too far from Mike, we also heated with wood while we were renovating. It worked very well and we too were toasty. I do remember one frosty morning Christopher laid his blue jeans on the stove "to warn them up". The heat caused his jeans to turn a nice shade of aquamarine.
