Mother’s Day

Filed under: Personal — Night Owl @ 9:32 pm

Mother’s Day is Sunday and I still haven’t got a clue what to give my dear old Mom. She doesn’t like jewelry, perfume, or any of that girly stuff. I’m afraid to buy her anything because her tastes are very specific and if I fail to please, I’ll go down in her “Son with Horrible Taste” book. Any of you 5 or 6 readers have a suggestion for me?

  1. My mom loves plants and flowers. I always go to a nursery and look for something that either she really likes and can’t get enough of, or something rather ‘different’ and then she is pleased to have a flower and something to learn about.

  2. So should I get her a venus Fly-Trap?

  3. Well, Mike. I’d say that Victoria’s Secret is out so you might try taking her to dinner. Then she could choose her own meal and if she doesn’t like it … it’s not your fault. She likes Macaroni Grill. AND Wendy won’t have to cook anything so she’ll like it too.

  4. How about a native Maryland pitcher plant :)

  5. I went with the old “better safe than sorry”. I invited her over for a BBQ… gave her a mother’s day card with a gift certificate for a dinner out. What in Merlin’s Beard is a pitcher plant Xerraire?
